Christmas Outreach 2009
Spreading Christmas Cheer
As usual, December 2009 found dedicated volunteers serving hot drinks and pastries at Brent Cross Tube station.
Spreading christmas cheer is a Jesus House initiative to spread the love of Jesus to commuters on cold winter mornings. Commuters were greeted with a friendly face and a much needed hot drink as they set out on their journey.
Jesus House hopes to cover all the stations in Barnet this Christmas, 2010 by encouraging other local churches to get involved.

Christmas Lunch on Jesus
Despite popular belief, a number of residents in Barnet struggle to feed themselves. With Christmas being a particularly expensive time of the year, a group of local churches got together to provide Christmas hampers to local residents in need.
Two thousand, five hundred hampers full of everything needed to have a healthy family meal were delivered to recipients in the week before Christmas.
Jesus House will be running Christmas Lunch on Jesus again this year, if you would like to get involved, please send an email to community@jesushouse.org.uk

One Voice - Somebody Please Help Haiti Saturday 27th February at the legendary Abbey Road studios, London, was something special. Their compassion stirred by the tragic events in Haiti, over 250 of the UKs leading worship and gospel artists gathered to record a single and shoot a music video to raise funds for survivors of the Haiti earthquake.
The track chosen was Somebody Please, written by Israel Houghton and Noel Robinson for last years One Voice album. Lawrence Johnson explained the reason for the choice: We decided to record Somebody Please because we felt the lyrics were very appropriate for the people we hope to raise funds for. It tells the story of a child crying out for help and justice.
Were very excited about this project. When one suffers everybody suffers, said Stuart Townend on the day. This song is a cry to God from the heart on behalf of all the oppressed in the world. Its a privilege to be able to join together with others.
