Youth Football Academy
Youth Football Academy
In August 2009, Jesus House ran a football academy for two weeks. Heavily subsidised by Jesus House and open to the local community, the football academy gave the participants the opportunity to get first class coaching from FA qualified football coaches from SAFE Academy football club.
Running from 10am till 1pm at Whitefields Sports School in Cricklewood, boys were shuttled in from Grahame Park Estate each morning.
Local residents and some Jesus House members also attended the academy.
The boys were encouraged not only to build on their football skills but also their character. Along with learning how to shoot, head and control the football, the boys learnt the importance of respecting others and being on time.
All the boys received certificates, trophies and medals were given to those who excelled in specific areas.

One Voice - Somebody Please Help Haiti Saturday 27th February at the legendary Abbey Road studios, London, was something special. Their compassion stirred by the tragic events in Haiti, over 250 of the UKs leading worship and gospel artists gathered to record a single and shoot a music video to raise funds for survivors of the Haiti earthquake.
The track chosen was Somebody Please, written by Israel Houghton and Noel Robinson for last years One Voice album. Lawrence Johnson explained the reason for the choice: We decided to record Somebody Please because we felt the lyrics were very appropriate for the people we hope to raise funds for. It tells the story of a child crying out for help and justice.
Were very excited about this project. When one suffers everybody suffers, said Stuart Townend on the day. This song is a cry to God from the heart on behalf of all the oppressed in the world. Its a privilege to be able to join together with others.
