Esthers

Esthers’ is the women’s ministry in Jesus House. The word ‘Esther’ means “Star” and the name of the ministry was derived from the story of Queen Esther in the Bible, who was graced with wisdom and insight, and used her position to positively influence the lives of people around her.

The vision of the ministry is to raise women of virtue who influence and transform lives through their God-given authority and wisdom.

These objectives are exemplified through a number of activities during the year. Esthers’ ministry is open to all women and some of our activities and meetings include our monthly informal meeting (held on the first Thursday of each month)

In addition to this we have a spring retreat every year which provides an opportunity for the women to step away from their everyday demands and seek God in quiet, peaceful and comfortable surroundings.

In 2012 the ministry had its first conference, ‘Uncommon Woman,’ which was a great success.

We also run a Mentoring Scheme (EMS) three times a year in January, April and September. The programme identifies concepts such as our worth, strength and purpose. It rests on the belief that we all have a specific purpose and are of immeasurable value to God. It focuses on the potential that we each have and the actualisation of that potential.
