The Name of Jesus

After the message titled 'The Power in the Name of Jesus' preached by Pastor Agu on the 26 of Feb, I felt the Spirit of God in the room as he concluded by saying we should, all together, call on His Name. It was truly amazing and I left the service, knowing how much power I was carrying about in that powerful name, and knew that the enemy would never be able to cheat me ever again.

I didn't realise that night was going to be my first test. I woke up in the middle of the night totally in fear; I just was terrified and I had no idea why. As I knelt down to pray and ask God to just remove that fear from me and send me back to sleep peacefully, I immediately remembered the power I had, not just in the name but in the knowledge of the power in that Name of Jesus, so I decided to start calling the name of Jesus until I fell asleep. I also remembered during the sermon that Pastor Agu mentioned that the name of Jesus is the embodiment of Christ so as I called on His name I consciously pictured the Lord Jesus right beside me holding my hand and ministering peace to me. I called the name of Jesus less than 10 times before I totally fell asleep like a baby.

I remember waking up (being totally delivered from fear) thinking "Wow, I do not only serve a God that answers prayers, but I also serve a God Whose Name is higher and greater than any other name on Earth." Now I just love calling the name of Jesus and I make up songs even on my drive to work, not only when I need something but in reverence of Him as my Father, friend, Master, Saviour & God, and in thanksgiving to Him for giving such power to us.

I praise God for Pastor Agu's life and for allowing himself to be a vessel through which God reaches out to His people.
