NOVO SUMMER ACADEMY

Novo Summer Academy 2009

The summer academy that ran in August 2009 was set up for a particular group of young people - those not currently in education or employment and over twenty five people took part in the four week course.

The academy provided these young people with a safe haven where they could share personal issues they face as young people. Issues such as dealing with parents, handling money and how to focus on their talents and achieve their life goals were discussed.

The summer academy was rounded up with a group outing to play bowls and all participants received certificates celebrating their achievements over the four weeks. They all went away feeling encouraged, inspired and positive about their futures.

Novo Summer Academy 2010

The summer academy 2010 was successful by any standards. The young people came unaware of what to expect but left with a sense of empowerment and direction.

They got involved in a range of different activities and discussions all of which were in a bid to teach them life, social and team building skills. They enjoyed themselves, got involved in all tasks and definitely learnt things to apply in their day to day lives.

With all of their achievements displayed at the end in a showcase, they all walked away with certificates to commemorate their success over the summer. The received awards in Leadership, Dedication, Respect and also received vouchers in addition to their certificates. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and fun experience for all involved. The young people left wanting more!!
