A Deeper Relationship with God

If we are to step into new territories in the coming year, we must build a deeper relationship with God. This is neither easy nor automatic, as the obstacles to achieving this are many. Still, if we truly desire to see more of God in our lives, we need to break through by making sacrifices we may hitherto have taken for granted. Prayer combined with fasting helps us to delve deeper into our communion with God; by depriving the flesh we give our spirits the opportunity to come alive.

Don’t worry if you have never fasted before; after all, this is the year to do new things.
