Textify Campaign Kicks Off

We are living in a time that can honestly be called a digital communications age; where the most digitally aware section of society are teenagers. The most popular communication method of choice for them is text messaging and ‘bbm’ also known as blackberry messaging.

To leverage this reality a campaign called ‘Textify’ was launched by Hope Revolution at the Festival of Life, Manchester on Friday 22nd July 2011. Spearheading this initiative is Hope Revolution, which is made of 40 youth focussed organisations partnering with HOPE. One of the aims we have is to see all across the UK young people speak out about their faith in Jesus Christ demonstrating His love to others, in word and action missions.

Pastor Bajo Akisanya, National Youth Director for The Redeemed Christian Church of God said “It was a real privilege to be able to host the launch of the youth movement of Hope Revolution ‘Textify’campaign at our Manchester event. We are really excited about what we can accomplish through the young people of this nation as they Textify together.”

Phil Timson, the new Youth Director for HOPE said: “We understand that it can be tough for young people to talk about what they believe and there is a real element of courage needed to step out and do this.”

‘The Textify Challenge’ aims to encourage the younger generation to use their phones and social networks to choose and pray for 3 or 4 friends, start a conversation with them and ultimately share their faith with them.

The Textify Challenge starts from 12th - 30th September 2011
