Jesus Through Asian Eyes

For many people, western culture is intertwined with Christianity. So how do South Asians present their case?

The South Asian Forum of the Evangelical Alliance (SAF) is a new grouping within the Evangelical Alliance set up to provide a forum for South Asian Christians in the UK. ‘Jesus Through Asian Eyes’ is a booklet launched by the Alliance. This booklet answers frequently asked questions and helps dispel common misconceptions that Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Buddhists have about the Christian faith. It is a particularly useful tool for parishes in areas that have significant Asian populations.

Questions like these will be addressed in the booklet:

  •  Is Christianity a Western religion?
  •  Isn't it better to follow the religion of your family?
  •  Would I have to leave my family and culture to follow Christ?
  •  What do Christians mean by calling Jesus the Son of God?
  •  Does God favour men over women?
  •  Why are so many Christians not like Jesus?

We are asking our churches and members to do three things:

  • 1 Share your faith with at least one Asian person (e.g. friend, work colleague, neighbour);
  • 2 Give them a copy of SAF’s new booklet ‘Jesus through Asian Eyes’; and
  • 3 Pray for them.

Booklets costs 50p per copy and are available from our Pages Bookshop or you can email m.raithatha@eauk.org

Let’s really impact someone’s life this year with the good news of Christ
